Jim Holmes, Placer County Board of Supervisors, District 3

Jim Holmes was elected to the Placer County Board of Supervisors in 2004 and assumed his seat on January 4, 2005. He is currently serving his 4th term. He represents the 3rd District, an area that includes a portion of North Auburn, Ophir, Newcastle, Penryn, Loomis and the majority of Rocklin.
An Auburn native with more than 29 years of experience as a business owner, Jim has been dedicated to community service throughout his adult life, serving on multiple boards and commissions. In addition to serving on the First 5 Placer Children & Families Commission, Jim is also on the Auburn Union Elementary School District Board, the Placer Consolidated Fire Protection District Board, the Auburn Area Chamber of commerce, the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn, and he was a founding member of both the North Auburn Municipal Advisory Council and the Highway 49 Business Association.
Jim went to local schools, graduating from Placer High School and Sierra College. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Humboldt State University. He and his wife, Pat, have two daughters, Stacy and Amy, a son, John, and granddaughters Amber, Mandy, Lyla, and Mia.
Supervisor Holmes has served as a First 5 Placer Commissioner for nearly a decade.
