Meet First 5 Placer's Newest Commissioner: Brian Passenheim!

Brian Passenheim is a dedicated public safety leader whose career and personal experiences reflect a deep commitment to community well‑being and family support. As Chief Probation Officer for Placer County, Brian serves communities from South Placer to the Tahoe Basin, giving him a broad and informed perspective on the diverse needs and challenges local families face.

Brian’s understanding of early intervention is shaped both by professional responsibility and personal experience. As a parent of five and a grandparent, Brian has navigated the process of securing mental health services for a child, reinforcing the importance of timely, accessible, and responsive care.

With more than two decades in law enforcement and a career spanning roles from Correctional Officer to Assistant Chief before becoming Chief Probation Officer, Brian brings extensive operational, leadership, and collaborative expertise. His work aligns strongly with First 5 Placer’s mission through cross-system partnerships, early identification of family needs, and support for children and caregivers. Brian remains dedicated to fostering safe, healthy, and resilient communities throughout Placer County.
