Meet First 5 PLacer's Newest Commissioner: Teresa-Dawson Roberts


Teresa has been with Placer County Office of Education over 24 years. As Director of Early Learning with PCOE, Teresa has a phenomenal team she works with to coordinate the “program” side. State Preschool, Family Child Care Homes Network, Resource and Referral, Family Friends and Neighbors, Literacy Initiative, Professional Development for Early Educators, and Placer County Child Care Council are some of the on-going programs in PCOE Early Child Education.


Teresa has lived in Placer County since 1990. During this time, she has worked with small children in one capacity or another. Teresa has been a family childcare provider, director of private, State & Headstart preschools, and mentor/coach to Early Childhood Education students and staff. She has served on the Placer County Child Care Council and currently chairs the Sierra College ECE Advisory Committee.

Teresa grew up in Southern California. Teresa has been married for 30+ years and has three children (Thomas, Katie and Steven), two grandchildren (Jack and Poppy).
