Meet First 5 Placer's Newest Commissioner! Raul Martinez
Raúl Martínez serves as the Assistant Director of Placer County Health and Human Services where he provides leadership in the areas of strategy, evidence, and external affairs. He holds a Master’s of Public Administration from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Davis.
To First 5 Placer, Raúl brings deep knowledge of efforts to foster early learning and strengthen systems that serve kids and families. For nearly 20 years, he has worked with many First 5 commissions, First 5 Association of California, The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, Oakland Fund for Children and Youth, and others through the lens of evaluation, planning, and strategy. He has also served as a panelist at state and national conferences on early childhood research and evaluation projects. Raúl is excited to connect more deeply with and support the network of local organizations and people serving one of our most precious resources: our youngest kids.
