Jennifer Hicks serves as the Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services for Placer County Office of Education. She oversees the Leadership and Learning Collaborative, Early Childhood Education and Equity, Innovation and Support departments. She holds a Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership. Her past and current work – including significant advisory board experience – demonstrate a commitment to working on the development and implementation of programs and partnerships to improve and enhance the experiences of children, families and educators so that they can reach their full potential, academically, developmentally and socially. In addition, Jennifer has worked with children in families in very diverse communities throughout the greater Sacramento region, and understands many of the complexities related to supporting at-risk and/or culturally diverse children and families. The primary purpose of the First 5 Placer Children and Families Commission is to support the healthy development of children through age 5 by creating and implementing a strategic plan for the use of Proposition 10 Tobacco Tax funds.
