We're Accountable to the Community
The voters who passed Proposition 10 understood that the best decisions about how to meet the needs of children are made by those closest to them. For this reason, Tobacco tax dollars in Placer County are locally controlled and distributed according to a community engagement process. This process ensures that our community helps direct resources toward services and programs that best serve our prenatal through age 6 children.
First 5 Placer holds itself and funded partners accountable for tax dollars spent through its annual audit and extensive evaluation process. 89% of First 5 Placer's budget goes directly to programs that serve one children, families and providers; our administration rate is less than 7% of budget.
